First taste of snow

She likes it just about as much as her Daddy does... this is why we live in Arizona!! ;o)

Eyes

Took Brynn for her follow up eye appointment this afternoon... still no changes, they are still just as much crossed as they were a month ago and they're both crossing, it's not one more than the other. He said that he wants to see her in another month and if one eye is stronger than the other by then, we might try to put a patch over the strong one for a few hours a day to try to strenthen the weaker one. He said they won't correct themselves on their own, she'll probably have surgery around the time that's she's a year old. He still wouldn't tell me what the procedure was, he didn't want to freak me out... so, for that I'm grateful.

We, along with a few other people, thought they were straightening out but the doctor said that because the shape of her face is changing and that's why we thought it looked better. That's why he's the doctor... not us!! More updates in a month or so.

Christmas celebration # 3... at the Shadel house!!

Christmas actually felt like Christmas this year!! Brynn got a ton of presents, including this barrette thing for her hair (Chad just set it on her head...) and this ornament in it's yummy box!

We got up, opened presents and had some breakfast casserole with BOB EVANS sausage in it (YUM! I miss that stuff!) then, Dad had each of us do a scavenger hunt type thing with one gift, which was pretty cool. Here's a picture of Lindy digging for her last clue!!

We celebrated Christmas morning kind of quickly, because Bri's man Jason had to go visit his family before he flew back to Minnesota (long story) but we still wanted him to be a part of everything. We had met Jason the night before but had heard ALL ABOUT HIM for quite a while. Right Bri? Are you embarrassed now?! ;o) Anyway, he's a super cool guy who treats Bri awesome. Awww... aren't they cute?!



That night, we had a bunch of other family members and some friends come over... most of them got to meet Brynn for the first time!! Here are some more pictures from that day!!

This is Bri's friend Greg, who she's been friends with forever. He was cracking us up. He was being fidgity and grabbed the "booger ball" (a.k.a. snot sucker-outer-thing!) and was squeezing it not realizing what it was - luckily, it was clean and it was pointing away from him!!! Oh, and he's super tall, like 6'7" or something crazy like that... he told us he wears a size 18 shoe, that's about as big as Brynn's whole leg! Aww...

Private blog

I know there are a bunch of people that I don't know that read this and I'm actually ok with that but there are two people in particular who Chad and I are extremely uncomfortable with. I don't like ex-boyfriends and their weirdo girlfriend/fiance/whatever she is reading about our lives. For some reason, it just really annoys me and honestly, it freaks me out. (You know who you are and I think you should probably take that as a hint.)

Aunt Jami!!

My sister-in-law, Jami, is in the Navy and has been stationed in Norfolk, VA for the last two years. Unfortunately, the last time that we had been able to see her was at our wedding last year!!

On the 26th after we had opened presents at my parents' house, I had told Chad that he had one other gift coming but that I didn't think that it was going to be there until the 28th. He didn't seem too happy with me, because we weren't supposed to be doing much, if anything, for Christmas for the two of us this year. He he he...

With the sneaky help of Jody and my family, Jami and I were able to surprise Chad with the coolest Christmas present ever! She made the 9 hour drive to Ohio to see us and to meet Brynn!! YAY!! The last time Chad had heard anything, Jami wasn't going to be able to get the time off, so she couldn't come.

When she got to a road that was close to their house, she sent me a text message. Chad and I were hanging out on the couches upstairs and I was like "OH! I need to go get a picture of Bri's new license plates!" (They're cool - they say "BRIBO" on them!) He gave me a weird look and I went out the door.

Jami was pulling onto their street when I went outside so I flagged her down, gave her a big hug and we were SUPER excited to see what Chad's reaction was going to be so we ran to the front door. I went upstairs and was like "Hey Babe, your Christmas present came earlier than I thought it was going to", he thought I was going to hand him something... two seconds later, Jami followed me up the stairs and it took him a moment to figure out who she was!! He totally didn't expect it!! YAY!! I think everyone in the house just about cried!! ;o)

On Friday, Bri took Jami, Chad, Brynn and I over to my parents salon so Brynn could get her first haircut, Chad could get his hair cut and I could get mine colored. The girl that did our hair had some extra time so Jami got hers done too! She started out as a blond and turned into a sexy redhead!! I like it!!
