Mini Vay-Cay

We're heading to San Diego tomorrow for a quick get away. We're sick of the heat (even though it's starting to cool off... it's in the high 90's) and are ready for some new scenery.

I've really been a bad blogger lately... sorry everyone!!!

Cats

This is one of Jody (Gramma)'s cats, Yoda. Brynn calls him "Yo-Yuh". He got into a bag of shredded paper and decided to make it a bed. Reason # 13013847 why we don't have cats.

Vacation!!

I have SO MUCH to blog about but I'm not sure how much I'll be able to get to. Mom, Mimi and Lindy were all here visiting and SO MUCH happened while they were visiting. I'll blog about all of that as soon as I can.

Right now, we're actually in California taking a MUCH NEEDED vacation. Chad was here last week for training and Brynn and I flew in on Saturday. She did amazing on the flight. Luckily, it was only about 45 minutes or so.

Chad was so happy to see us, he brought us flowers at the airport!! :) Brynn didn't know what to think at first but then she got excited about them. (Of course we didn't get a picture of that part!!) Thanks Babe!!





We're spending some time with Chad's family while we're here (staying with them too) and going to Sea World on Wednesday. Chad met our new niece Kalynn last weekend while he was here for training and Brynn and I got to meet her on Saturday when we flew in. Here's a picture of the happy new family!!

DANG IT!

My highschool reunion is going to be on August 1-2, 2009. That isn't Labor Day weekend.

So, what should we do?

A. Go back for the reunion and go to Cedar Point?
B. Go back around Labor Day weekend, use one less day of vacation, go to Cedar Point and go to the fair.

Those are the choices for next year. A or B?

Thanksgiving - A Little Late

I'm behind on everything this month.

We went to California this year for Thanksgiving. This trip, we stayed with Chad's sister Ana and her boyfriend Keith. We had a lot of fun and it actually ended up being a pretty relaxing trip, I think because we had a few more days than what we normally would have. We gave Ana and Keith lots of tips (I'm sure it was a lot more than what they wanted to hear), Ana is pregnant and is due on June 2nd!! We're excited for them, they'll be great parents. Brynn really had a fun time with "Uncle Keith". We're hoping they're going to have a girl, we have plenty of stuff to let them borrow!!

Chad's youngest sister Jami also came home from a two-month trip on her ship the day before we got there. We were really bummed that we weren't able to be there to see them pull in to San Diego (Chad was off work that week, but I wasn't). We did see lots of pictures though, it looked really cool. I got a text message from Jami shortly after she saw everyone and it said "You knew Ana was pregnant and you didn't tell me?!". ;o) I didn't want to ruin Ana's surprise!!

On Thanksgiving Day, we went to Chad's parents' house for a nice meal!! Thanks for everything Jody, Ana and Keith!!

The day after Thanksgiving, Chad, Brynn, Ana and I headed to Big Lots and Toys-R-Us to see if we could find some deals. We didn't get what we wanted at Big Lots (that's what happens when you don't get up super early in the morning, everything is gone!) and we didn't really have anything that we wanted to get from Toys-R-Us but we ended up coming home with a big box... you'll see what it was in a few weeks!!

Family time

On Saturday night, we grilled out and got to spend some time with Chad's sister Ana, her boyfriend Keith (aww, aren't they so cute?!), Jody and Mike. Brynn wasn't too sure what to think of Keith at first, he has some pretty spikey hair compared to her Daddy's!! After a little while of Keith trying to play with her, she got used to him and ended up having a lot of fun!! Here are some pictures from our fun "family night"... as well as a few others from the rest of the trip!!

Hard Rock and Hollywood

Chad and I always try to go to a Hard Rock Cafe when we're on vacation, so we went to the one in Universal City, CA on Saturday. So far, we've been to the ones in Cleveland, Puerto Vallarta, Denver, Phoenix and Universal City. (I've been to the one in Cancun too but we won't "count" that one.) What was ridiculous about this one was that we had to pay $20 just to park... plus food! (Thanks for lunch Jody!!)

After lunch, we headed to Hollywood Blvd to see some of the stars. Didn't see anyone famous, just the stars on the sidewalk. Here's one I took of Jody squishing Michelle Pfeiffer's star. They went to school together and at one point were pretty close friends. Then, Michelle turned into a b****. So, I told Jody she should squish her.

OH, then we saw this guy and we had to take a picture of him for Brenda. He was a big jerk of an Elmo and wouldn't turn and face me, I'm guessing unless he saw I had money in my hand for a tip (which I didn't), so this is the best I could do. It was the thought that counted... Brenda, I think your costume's in much better shape than this guy's.





I think it would have been really cool to go on one of those tours that show you where all of the stars live but we didn't have a whole lot of time. We had a pretty fun day but that day made me realize that I never want to live anywhere around LA, ever. There was way too much traffic and it was pretty dirty compared to what I thought it would be.

Brynn was even scared!!

Beach Baby!!

On Friday, Gramma, Chad and I took Brynn on her first trip to see the ocean!! She wasn't too sure about the sand at first but then she seemed to like wiggling her little toes in it. She absolutely hated the water at first because it was so cold. As soon as the first wave came up and touched her feet, she picked her feet right up in the air!!

Chad picked up some handfuls of sand that had baby crabs in it and Brynn thought those were pretty neat, she even touched them!!

Road trip!

Brynn was so excited to see her Gramma, Grandpa, Auntie Ana (and hopefully, eventually Uncle Keith!)... she did great on the car ride to California! She zonked out pretty quick at first but then we made a quick stop at a rest area and she was awake long enough for us to capture her excitement on camera!

Long weekend

We are so ready for a vacation. We're leaving for California tomorrow right after work and will be back late on Sunday. We'll get to spend some time with Gramma, Grandpa and Auntie Ana!!

We really want to take Brynn to the beach for the first time and go to Hollywood too. Can't wait!!
