Jetta-Jetta
Brynn's nickname for Jetta is "Jetta-Jetta". I can't remember exactly when she started calling her that, but they're buddies. She's the only one of our dogs who actually listens to Brynn, maybe that's why Brynn likes her so much!!

Caged Up
A couple months ago, we switched the food that we were giving the dogs and because of that, they all gained weight. We switched them to a new food and we've been trying to control the amount of food that each of them are eating, so we've been feeding them twice a day in their cages.
Brynn LOVES to help us feed the dogs. We count out the amount of scoops that they get in their bowls and she even remembers which dish belongs to each dog.
A few nights ago, Mel's dish was all the way in the back of her cage, so we sent Brynn in after it. Mel didn't really know what to think!!

Pups
This month has been outrageous when it comes to money that we've spent that has anything to do with the dogs.
1. Allie got hurt somehow in our backyard three weeks ago. She has a 3" gash in the right side of her neck and a puncture wound in the left side. We have no idea what happened, but we're guessing she got hurt on some of the VW parts that Chad had in the backyard. Total cost: $320
2. Due to Allie getting hurt, we took the doggie door out of our sliding glass door so that the dogs wouldn't be able to go outside while we were at work. We kept Allie in her cage, so she wouldn't be able to rough house with Mel and Jetta. While we were at work one day, JETTA or Mel decided that they wanted to eat Chad's PS3 remotes and the remote for our cable box. Needless to say, that night we went and bought them cages too. We bought one from a friend and another from Petsmart. Total cost: $230
3. We got Mel and Allie shaved last month and Chad decided to brush Mel yesterday. When he was brushing her, her hair started falling out and he noticed some sores on her back that looked like mange. We freaked out (after doing some online reading about mange) and Chad took her to the vet. They ran some tests and we'll probably have some results later in the week. It's not mange and at this point, without knowing the test results, they think it's her allergies that are causing all of her issues. We already give her 4 Benedryl at a time, twice a day. They also told him that she was really overweight and she's gained 6 pounds since November. They said that for every pound she gains, it's like 10 human pounds. So basically that's like us gaining 60 pounds since November. They sent Chad home with a bunch of different medications and some sample dog food packets. Total cost: $450
I think that we should be able to deduct pet medical expenses from our taxes, just like we can deduct our own. This is crazy.

Zoo
We're back to having a zoo again...
We have Allie, Mel, a tank full o' fish and Spike, the bearded dragon.
WELL... As of Friday, we're adding another pup to the mix. One of the guys in Chad's car club is heading to Afghanistan for a while and needed to find a home for his dog.
Meet Jetta. (Currently named "Chica" but will be renamed as Jetta.)

More pictures and details to come.
By the way, Lindy, why is it that I get dogs right before you come to visit? Allie - got her in November 2004, you came to visit for Christmas 2004. Mel - got her in September 2006 and you came to visit in October 2006 and now we're getting Jetta on Friday and you're coming to visit in two weeks. :)

Cats
This is one of Jody (Gramma)'s cats, Yoda. Brynn calls him "Yo-Yuh". He got into a bag of shredded paper and decided to make it a bed. Reason # 13013847 why we don't have cats.

Weirdo Mel
Laying inside with her head sticking out the doggie door... Maybe Brynn needed a diaper change and this was Mel's way of telling us???

Long Time No See
Last Sunday, we went to visit the O'Shaughnessy's!! Erin and Mike haven't seen Brynn since last September, we figured it was about time we all got together!! Erin and Mike have two weiner dogs, Cooper and Quinn. When we walked in, Brynn didn't know what to think of them. We kept telling her that they were "pups" but I don't think she believed us because she was pretty freaked out!! After a few minutes, she was laughing and having a good time.
Quinn really loved her, he kept giving her kisses, nibbling on her fingers and they even chased each other!!
Brynn eventually found a squirt bottle and decided that instead of her cup, she wanted to drink out of the water bottle!!
Here are some pictures from our goofy afternoon!!

Holy CRAP
Literally. Happy Friday the 13th. Try to top this...
I got a call at like 4:20 this afternoon from Chad while I was still at work.
Me: Hey you, how was your da...
Chad: HEY, WHAT DID YOU FEED THE DOGS THIS MORNING?!
Me: Um, nothing other than their regular food - why?!
Chad: (FREAKING OUT!) BECAUSE I WALKED INTO THE HOUSE AND IT SMELLED LIKE POOP. I WALKED INTO THE OFFICE AND JUST STOOD THERE IN SHOCK. MEL POOPED ALL OVER HER CAGE AND GOT IT ALL OVER THE CARPET, THE WALL, THE BOOKCASE, THE FAN AND HERSELF!!! Allie pooped in her cage but she was ok. I GOTTA GO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HELL I'M GOING TO DO, THEY'RE STILL IN THEIR CAGES AND I HAVE BRYNN! Love you, bye. Click.
On Monday, we had just worked on the yard and Chad basically chopped down two bougainvillas. What didn't fit into our recycle trash bin thing went in a big pile in our side yard. The only thing that I can think of is that they ate some of it this morning while I was getting ready for work. We're keeping an eye on them, they seem to be doing ok and I really hope they learned their lesson.
By the time I got home, Chad had everything all cleaned up. He said that Mel was such a mess, he just stood there trying to figure out how to get her out of her cage without getting poop all over the place, and himself. He laid a big towel down on the ground and then had Mel stand on it. Then, he wrapped her up in a bigger towel and carried her into the tub. Let me tell ya, Mel's a big dog and Chad has a HORRIBLY sensitive stomach. Not a good combination. You won't get any more details than that.
It's 10:22pm and the house still smells like poop.
Like I said, top that. Here's a picture of them from last year, Allie's on the left and Mel's on the right.
